Construction of waste management centre in Kelaa resumes with a new contractor

Ministry of Environment has revealed a new contractor has been selected to complete the construction of the waste management centre to be established in Kelaa, Haa Alifu Atoll.

The environment ministry said a local company called Mangandu has been awarded the contract to complete the pending civil work of the project. The ministry said contract was awarded through a bidding process, adding the selected contractor must complete the project within 2 months.

The development of a waste management centre in Kelaa was initiated upon the advice of technical experts at the environment ministry. Over USD 32,000 has been spent for the project under the Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP), according to the ministry.
