Maldives treating 57 COVID-19 patients in hospitals

Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) has revealed 57 COVID-19 patients are admitted and undergoing treatment in health facilities.

Speaking at a press conference, Spokesperson of the HEOC Dr. Nazla Rafeeq revealed all admitted patients are treated at the medical facility in Hulhumale', confirming no patients are currently admitted in the DH-11 facility at Dharumavantha Hospital. She added all patients are in stable conditions.

Further, Dr. Nazla spoke on the concerns over the delay in transferring positive patients to isolation facilities. She said allocating additional isolation facilities are currently underway to avoid such delays.

HEOC revealed the number of active cases of COVID-19 in the Maldives is at 676, while the total number of cases in the Maldives has surpassed 3,000.
