Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has started testing the newly-established sewerage system in Kurendhoo, Lhaviyani Atoll.
MWSC installed a 6,000-metre main sewerage network and a 720-metre pumping line in Kurendhoo, in addition to 2 pump stations, sea outfall and the contruction of an administrative building. The company has also connected junction lines connecting 366 households to the sewerage network as part of the project. The project also included supplying generators and vehicles necessary to manage the system.
The project contracted by Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure was completed at a cost of over USD 1.9 million. MWSC launched the project in Kurendhoo during September 2018.
