58 frontline workers test positive for COVID-19 in July

Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) has revealed 58 frontline workers tested positive for COVID-19 in July.

HEOC stated Speaking at a press conference, Spokesperson of the HEOC Dr. Nazla Rafeeq said 37 health professionals and 21 police officers tested positive for COVID-19 in the past month. She noted 64 health professionals including doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians, radiographers, attendants and technical staff have tested positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives so far. She added a total of 60 police officers have been infected with COVID-19, adding 6 officers tested positive on August 1.

Frontline workers have been putting a collective and a continuous effort to contain the spread of COVID-19 and run essential services in the country amidst the pandemic.
