Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) has revealed eight COVID-19 patients in the Maldives are currently undergoing treatment from intensive care units (ICU), including one patient put on ventilator support.
Speaking at a press conference, Spokesperson of the HEOC Dr. Nazla Rafeeq stated 110 COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalised in the Maldives. Dr. Nazla revealed six of the ICU patients are at Hulhumale' Medical Facility and the remaining two patients are at the DH11 Facility in Dharumavantha Hospital. She noted one patient in Hulhumale' Medical Facility has been put on ventilator support.
Providing details of the non-ICU admissions, the spokesperson revealed 85 patients have been admitted at the Hulhumale' Medical Facility and a further six patients are undergoing treatment at the DH16 Facility. She added the COVID-19 facilities in Funadhoo, Shaviyani Atoll and Eydhafushi, Baa Atoll are currently treating one patient each.
Over 4,500 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the Maldives so far, including over 1,800 active cases. So far 19 people have died from COVID-19 in the Maldives.
