71% of Meedhoo harbour construction project completed: MTCC

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced 71% of the harbour construction project in Meedhoo, Addu City has been completed.

MTCC revealed the design and build of Meedhoo harbour is underway with majority of the project competed. MTCC said quay wall block installation has been completed and capping beam works on the quay wall are currently ongoing with over half of the works concluded.

MTCC was contracted to design and construct the Meedhoo harbour by the government of Maldives June 23, 2019. As per the agreement, the project consists o, 61,396 cubic metres of dredging and reclamation along with construction of a 115 metre breakwater and a 208 metre quay wall, a 3,150-square-metre harbour pavement with street lights. The project is valued at about USD 2.3 million.
