62% of Fonadhoo road development completed: MTCC

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has revealed 62% of the road development project in Fonadhoo, Laamu atoll has been completed.

MTCC said the project will see the construction of asphalt roads with an overall length of 3.5 kilometres. MTCC revealed asphalt required for the road construction has been delivered to the island on August 13.

MTCC commenced works of the redevelopment of major roads of Fonadhoo in June 26, 2019. Under the agreement, MTCC will construct and develop 12 roads with road signs and speed breakers, along with a stormwater management system to mitigate flooding.

Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure contracted the project to MTCC at a price of USD 1.6 million.
