Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Ahmed Mahloof has stated the ministry expects to complete the development of the synthetic track as part of the Ekuveni Outdoor Stadium upgrade by November 11.
The development of the synthetic track commenced on June 22, in an effort to renovate the stadium used by the public for daily exercise. RKL Group is funding the development of the track as a CSR project. Minister Mahloof said the installation of the track is ongoing, adding the project is expected to completed by November 11.
The Maldives currently has only one international synthetic track, which is established in Hulhumale'. Residents of Male' City and athletes who utilise the stadium to stay fit and healthy will benefit from the project.
