Flydubai has decided to resume flights to Maldives in October.
Flydubai operated to Maldives from 2013 to 2018. The airline said popular demand among travelers is its reason for resuming the route this year.
The low-cost airline revealed it will commence its Dubai to Male’ route from October 29. Flydubai said the airline will operate four times per week to the Maldivian capital, with economy and business-class fares available.
Chief Executive of Flydubai Ghaith Al Ghaith said the airline continues to see signs of recovery as more countries start to lift restrictions on international travel. He said all the stakeholders in the travel industry have a role to play to safeguard travel in this new environment, enabling more people to travel confidently.
Maldivian borders were reopened for international operations on July 15, more than three months after borders were closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, several airlines have resumed operations to Maldives.
