Health Protection Agency (HPA) announces 48 new cases of COVID-19 and 48 recoveries on September 22.
Announcing the latest statistics, HPA revealed 47 new cases from the Greater Male’ Region and one case from the atolls were detected between 1800hrs on September 21 and 1800hrs on September 22. HPA revealed the new cases include 28 Maldivians and 20 expatriates. With these new cases, the total number of COVID-19 cases reported in the Maldives is now 9,818.
In addition to the new cases, HPA also reported 48 recoveries on September 22. The number of COVID-19 recoveries in the Maldives has now risen to 8,438.
There are currently 1,346 active cases in the country, including 92 patients who have been hospitalised. HPA revealed there are active cases in 23 islands and 25 resorts, in addition to the Greater Male’ Region. There are 50 active cases in resorts, including 16 tourists and 34 staff.
Maldives has reported 34 deaths from COVID-19, including 27 locals and 7 expatriates.
