British Airways to resume direct flights to the Maldives

British Airways has confirmed that it will resume its operations to the Maldives on October 16.

British Airways said it will operate 3 weekly flights between London Heathrow Airport and Velana International Airport. Flights will arrive to the Maldives from London on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday while flights will depart from the Maldives on Monday, Thursday and Saturday.

British Airways commenced direct flights to Maldives in 2015. The operations were suspended due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

British Airways’ Director of Network and Alliances, Neil Chernoff, expressed delight to return to more destinations this month, connecting the UK with more and more countries around the world. British Airways advised travellers to check local restrictions and entry requirements of their destination and returning city.
