Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has handed over the COVID-19 Treatment Facility in Thinadhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll to Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
MTCC revealed the development of the facility was completed within 20 days. MTCC began the development of the medical facility in Thinadhoo on September 25. The facility includes 22 beds and an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) along with other facilities and equipment needed to treat COVID-19 patients.
The government has established medical facilities in five regions for COVID-19 patients. In this regard, facilities have been established in Funadhoo in Shaviyani Atoll, Eydhafushi in Baa Atoll, Gan in Laamu Atoll, Villingili in Gaafu Alifu Atoll and Addu City. Furthermore, transit medical facilities have been established in Ihavandhoo, Haa Alifu Atoll and Fuvahmulah City.
