Azur Air to resume scheduled flights to the Maldives

The charter airline and former regional airline in Russia, Azur Air has decided to resume scheduled flights to the Maldives.

Maldives Airport Company Limited (MACL) said Azur Air will resume its operations from Moscow, Russia to Velana International Airport, Maldives on November 1. MACL added the airline will operate two weekly flights to Maldives.

Azur Air is the third airline of Russia to resume operations to Maldives. MACL said 6 flights from Russia will arrive to Maldives every week with the commencement of flights from Azur Air.

Russia is one of the main source markets to the tourism industry of the Maldives. Statistics of the tourism ministry showed that 2,308 tourists arrived from Russia between October 1-15.
