Ministry of Tourism has decided to send mystery guests to tourist facilities to inspect the level of compliance to Health Protection Agency (HPA) guidelines.
The tourism ministry announced mystery guests will report the compliance of tourist facilities to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and HPA guidelines to the tourism ministry. The ministry said mystery guests will make bookings on their own, without involving the ministry.
The tourism ministry said the decision to send mystery guests was taken to ensure the health and safety protocols are being followed in tourist facilities. The ministry said the programme will act as a mechanism to monitor the safety standards of tourist facilities.
The tourism ministry has previously warned tourist facilities which violate the HPA guidelines will have their permits revoked.
