COVID-19 death toll in the Maldives rises to 44

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed a 52-year-old Maldivian male has passed away from COVID-19.

HPA said the male passed away at 2332hrs on November 15, while undergoing treatment at Hulhumale’ Medical Facility. This is the 44th COVID-19 death recorded in the Maldives, and the second death within the past 24 hours. So far, 36 Maldivians and 8 expatriates have passed away from COVID-19 in the Maldives.

As per the statistics of HPA, there are currently over 900 active cases of COVID-19 in the Maldives, including 59 patients admitted in medical facilities for treatment. A total of 12,314 cases have been reported in the Maldives since COVID-19 was first detected in the country on March 7.
