Maldives records 47th COVID-19 death

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed a 75-year-old Maldivian male has passed away from COVID-19.

HPA said the male passed away at 0749 hours on December 1, while undergoing treatment at Hulhumale’ Medical Facility. This is the 47 COVID-19 death recorded in the Maldives. So far, 39 Maldivians and 8 expatriates have passed away from COVID-19 in the Maldives.

As per the statistics of HPA, there are currently 1,019 active cases of COVID-19 in the Maldives, including 95 patients admitted in medical facilities for treatment. A total of 13,011 cases have been reported in the Maldives since COVID-19 was first detected in the country on March 7.
