Maldives Police Service (MPS) has commenced the Frontline Policing Symposium, aimed at facilitating discussions on the improvement of police services in the Maldives.
The symposium was officially inaugurated by Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed. Speaking at the symposium, the commissioner said the symposium would play an important role in the identification of areas which need improvement in the police service of the Maldives. He added plans will be formulated during the symposium to strengthen the services of frontline officers and provide a quality service to the public.
The symposium, which is being held from December 22-24, involves discussions on resolving the issues faced in providing frontline policing services, and the policy-level changes required to strengthen frontline policing services. The symposium is attended by officers of the Central Policing Command, Divisional Policing Command, Crime Investigation Command, Forensic Services and the Directorate of Intelligence.
Furthermore, officers of the Professional Standard Command, Legal Department, Train and Development Department as well as the Crime Prevention and Public Affairs Department of MPS are also taking part in the symposium as observers.
