Average of 3,085 tourist arrivals recorded per day in December

Ministry of Tourism reveals 3,085 tourist arrivals are recorded per day on average during this month.

According to statistics of the tourism ministry, an average of 1,192 tourists arrived per day during November. The figure has increased three-fold in December to over 3,000 arrivals per single day of December.

When borders were first reopened in July, an average of about 100 tourists were arriving in the Maldives per day. In August, 246 arrivals were recorded per day, while this figure rose to 318 and 694 arrivals during September and October respectively.

According to statistics of tourism ministry, over 140,000 tourists have visited the Maldives since borders were reopened on July 15.
