Uzbekistan's national airline, Uzbekistan Airways has resumed flights to the Maldives.
Uzbekistan Airways will operate its direct flights between Tashkent, Uzbekistan and Male’, Maldives. Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) said 266 passengers arrived in the Maldives in the first flight of Uzbekistan Airways.
MACL said the airline will be operating until the ends of peak season. Peak season mostly lasts until March the next year.
Maldives reopened its borders for tourists on July 15, more than three months after borders were closed due to COVID-19. In the three months since borders were reopened, tourist arrivals have been increasing steadily.
