Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) has revealed 20 people have tested positive for COVID-19 from Olhuveli Beach and Spa Resort in Kaafu Atoll.
HEOC said out of the 50 cases reported in the past 24 hours, 20 cases were reported from Olhuveli resort. HEOC revealed 24 cases have been recorded from the resort in total, noting all cases were reported among its staff members.
HEOC began collecting samples from Olhuveli Resort after 3 staff tested positive for the virus. HEOC revealed 167 random samples have been collected from the resort since the first case was identified, while 23 samples were currently pending.
Moreover, HEOC said efforts are ongoing to trace the contacts of the newly reported cases.
