Maldives reports 48 new COVID-19 cases

Maldives has reported 48 new COVID-19 cases on January 14.

According to statistics released by Health Protection Agency (HPA), 19 of the cases reported on January 14 were recorded from Greater Male’ Region. Meanwhile 15 cases were reported from inhabited islands, and 14 cases were reported from operational resorts.

With the new cases and recoveries reported, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives has risen to 14,325, while the number of recoveries from COVID-19 totals 13,463. There are a total of 806 active cases in the Maldives right now, including 55 patients requiring hospitalisation.

A total of 49 people have passed away from COVID-19 in the Maldives, including 41 Maldivians and 8 expatriates.
