Dhaandhoo, Gaafu Alifu Atoll
Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) has placed two islands in Gaafu Alifu Atoll under monitoring upon the detection of COVID-19 cases.
HEOC revealed Dhaandhoo and Villingili have been placed under monitoring as COVID-19 cases related to the Dhevvadhoo cluster were reported from both islands. HEOC said so far 2 people from Dhaandhoo and 1 person from Villingili have tested positive for the virus. HEOC said contact tracing is currently ongoing.
Meanwhile, cases related to Dhevvadhoo cluster have also been reported from Hulhumale’ as well as Gan and Fonadhoo in Laamu Atoll. Both Gan and Fonadhoo have also been put under monitoring.
