Maldives has reported 69 new cases of COVID-19 on January 18.
As per the latest statistics of Health Protection Agency (HPA), 69 new cases were detected between 1800hrs on January 17 and 1800hrs on January 18. This includes 35 cases from the Greater Male’ Region, along with 8 cases from inhabited islands in the atolls and 26 cases from operational resorts.
With the latest update in cases, the total number of COVID-19 cases reported in the Maldives has risen to 14,582. This includes 960 active cases, 13,566 recoveries and 49 deaths. There are currently 74 COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment at hospitals or medical facilities.
COVID-19 cases have started to increase in recent weeks, with some resorts and inhabited islands reporting outbreaks.
