COVID-19 cases reported in the Maldives exceed 15,000

The total number of COVID-19 cases reported in the Maldives has surpassed 15,000.

As per the latest statistics of Health Protection Agency (HPA), 109 new cases were detected between 1800hrs on January 24 and 1800hrs on January 25. This includes 78 cases from the Greater Male’ Region, 11 cases from operational resorts, one case from safaris and 11 cases from inhabited islands in the atolls.

With the latest update in cases, the total number of COVID-19 cases reported in the Maldives has risen to 15,102. This includes 1,160 active cases, 13,884 recoveries and 51 deaths. There are currently 87 COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment at hospitals or medical facilities.
