Daily COVID-19 cases reported over 100 for 4 consecutive days

Maldives reports COVID-19 cases above 100 for the fourth consecutive day.

As per the latest statistics of Health Protection Agency (HPA), 143 new cases were detected between 1800hrs on January 26 and 1800hrs on January 27. This includes 112 cases from the Greater Male’ Region, 24 cases from operational resorts and 7 cases from inhabited islands.

With the latest update in cases, the total number of COVID-19 cases reported in the Maldives has risen to 15,390. This includes 1,366 active cases, 13,966 recoveries and 51 deaths. There are currently 101 COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment at hospitals or medical facilities.
