Health Protection Agency (HPA) has stated individuals who wish to take a voluntary test for COVID-19 in the Greater Male’ Region can get their samples collected by flu clinics in the region.
HPA announced voluntary samples will be collected by the Hulhumale’ Flu Clinic and the facility behind Male’ Hiyaa 2 which had previously operated as the flu clinic in Male’. HPA said the service will be provided in Male’ from 0900hrs to 1300hrs and 1700hrs to 2100hrs every day except Friday. On Fridays, voluntary samples will be collected from 1700hrs to 2100hrs. Meanwhile, the flu clinic in Hulhumale’ will collect samples from 1700hrs to 2100hrs every day.
HPA further stated the facilities will not be collecting voluntary samples from individuals showing COVID-19 symptoms, individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 and direct contacts of positive cases. HPA also said individuals who need to test for COVID-19 in order to travel abroad cannot get their samples collected from facilities collecting voluntary samples.
Following the increase in COVID-19 cases in the Male’ Region, a curfew has once again been imposed in the capital from 0000hrs. to 0400hrs every day.
