Business hours of cafes and restaurants shortened

Ministry of Economic Development has announced changes to the permissible service hours of cafes and restaurants in the Greater Male’ Region, following the latest changes brought to curfew hours in the capital.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced the curfew in Male’, Hulhumale’ and Villimale’ will run from 2330hrs to 0430hrs starting from February 3. Following the HPA announcement, the economic ministry stated shops, cafes, restaurants and other food outlets will be permitted to operate from 0500hrs till 2230hrs. Meanwhile, parties and event celebrations in the capital city have been prohibited once again.

Restrictions have been tightened in the Maldives once again after COVID-19 cases began to increase sharply this month.
