Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed over 25,000 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the Maldives.
As per the latest statistics of HPA, 5,166 people were vaccinated in the Maldives on February 11, which is the highest single-day figure so far. This includes 4,257 people in the Male’ area and 909 people in the atolls.
Since the beginning of the vaccination programme on February 1, a total of 25,327 people have been vaccinated including 20,960 people in the Male’ area and 4,367 people in the atolls.
The first round of the vaccination in the Maldives will see the rollout of 100,000 doses of Covishield vaccine, granted to the Maldives by India. Two shots of the vaccine are required to complete the dosage, with 4 weeks required between the two shots.
Vaccination is currently carried out in 7 centres in the Male’ area and 55 centres in the atolls.
