Kolhufushi, Meemu Atoll
Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) has placed Kolhufushi, Meemu atoll under monitoring upon the detection of COVID-19 cases.
HEOC said the island is put under monitoring for the second time when a random sample resulted positive fort COVID-19. Kolhufushi Council revealed more random samples are being collected to determine the situation of the island.
Kolhufushi was first placed under monitoring on January 24. 34 cases were confirmed related to the cluster formed in the island. However, after several samples were tested negative for COVID-19, monitoring situation was lifted from the island in February 10.
