Maldives Immigration has stated special visa application for Quran reciters brought from abroad for Tarawih prayers of Ramadan will be carried out through the online portal Imuga.
Immigration said the application for special visas for foreign Huffaz and Qaris must be submitted through Imuga portal with the necessary documents such as the passport copy and the permit from the Ministry of Islamic Affairs. Immigration said the visa approval will be notified through the system within 7 days after the application.
Furthermore, Immigration stated if the Hafiz or Qari is bringing a family member with them, their travels will need to be sponsored by the institution that brings in the Hafiz or Qari. The authority said they will be issued a 30-day tourist visa, which can be extended upon application for extension before the date of expiry.
