MTCC to design and build shore protection structures in five islands

Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has contracted Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) to design and build shore protection structures in five islands.

MTCC agreed to build and design structures to protect the shores of Rasmaadhoo and Fainu in Raa Atoll, Thulhaadhoo in Baa Atoll, Mulah in Meemu Atoll and Rakeedhoo in Vaavu Atoll. The agreements were signed by CEO of MTCC Adam Azim and Permanent Secretary at the Planning Ministry Zeeniya Ahmed Hameed.

According to the agreements, MTCC will provide shore protection at Rasmaadhoo for USD 756,000 within 180 days. MTCC is also tasked with building protection structures at Thulhaadhoo for USD 666,000 within 150 days, and at Fainu for USD 647,000 within 180 days. The state-owned company will also be providing shore protection at Rakeedhoo for USD 582,000 within 105 days, and at Mulah for USD 1 million within 105 days.
