Vice President receives the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine

Vice President Faisal Naseem has received the second dose of Covishield COVID-19 vaccine.

Vice President Faisal Naseem received his second dose of the vaccine on April 12 at Senahiya Hospital. Upon receiving the second dose, the Vice President urged everyone to get vaccinated in order to protect themselves and their loved ones.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih launched the vaccination campaign on February 1, intending to inoculate the entire population against COVID-19. The Maldives began administering the second dose of the vaccine on April 3.
There are 7 vaccination centres and 2 mobile teams working under the inoculation drive in the Greater Male' Region, and 237 vaccination centres active in the atolls. Vaccines are provided free of charge for locals and expatriates. Under the inoculation drive, over 273,660 persons had received the first dose of the vaccine and over 25,369 persons had received the second dose as of April 12, 2021.

In addition to the Covishield vaccine, the Maldives has also begun the use of Sinopharm vaccine and the Pfizer vaccine for all eligible individuals.
