Maldives reports over 400 COVID-19 cases in a single day for the first time

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed 464 people tested positive for COVID-19 on April 28, making it the highest count of positive cases in the Maldives in one day.

As per the latest update, 207 new cases were detected from the Greater Male’ Region on April 28, along with 146 cases from inhabited islands in atolls, 93 cases from industrial islands, 14 cases from operational resorts, 3 cases from liveaboards and one case from an island under development. There are currently 4,396 active cases in the country, including 122 patients admitted in hospitals or medical facilities.

Maldives has reported a total of 29,052 cases since COVID-19 was first detected in the country in March 2020. So far, 72 people have passed away from COVID-19 in the Maldives.
