Cambridge O’Level examinations of May/June 2021 have commenced in the Maldives.
Ministry of Education revealed the O’Level examinations are participated by 5,955 students across the country, including 2,196 students from schools in the Greater Male’ Region and 3,759 students from schools in the atolls. 5,479 students are taking the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations along with the Cambridge examinations.
O’Level exams are being carried out in 22 centres in Male’ and 213 centres in the atolls. The education ministry said arrangements have been made for students who test positive for COVID-19 and students placed under quarantine to sit for their exams in accordance to the HPA guidelines.
Students were originally scheduled to undertake their O’Level examinations in October/November last year. However, the education ministry was forced to bring major changes to the academic calendar due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
