Maldives Police Service (MPS) has revealed the Sinamale' Bridge will be closed from 2100hrs to 0400hrs.
At a press conference held by the HPA, Superintendent of Police Abdulla Shareef said the bridge will be closed for the duration of the curfew imposed in the Greater Male' Region. The superintendent said a large number of police officers will be on duty to enforce the curfew and only those who already have permits are allowed to travel across the bridge. He urged residents to return to their homes as soon as the curfew begins, since police officers will be issuing fines of USD 65 to those found outside during the curfew and those not wearing masks. MPS has advised employees going to work during curfew to wear their uniform or a pass obtained from their place of employment.
HPA imposed a curfew between 2100hrs and 0400hrs in the Greater Male' Region to curb the spread of COVID-19. As part of the new restrictions, the government closed its offices and allowed employees to conduct their work at home, and make services available online.The measures also include the closure of schools, colleges, and universities as well as gyms, parks, sports centres, and tracks.
