President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with the Mayor of Male’ City Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to discuss urgent issues which need to be resolved in the capital city.
During a meeting held at the President’s Office on May 27, the president and the mayor discussed the current situation of Male’ and ways to make it safer and more hospitable for its citizens. Urgent matters that need immediate resolving and ways to reduce recurring problems were also discussed.
Mayor Muizzu had also shared ongoing projects being carried out by the Male’ City Council, as well as plans for upcoming projects. The mayor expressed his wishes to work alongside President Solih’s administration, and assured that he would give full support to the government.
Speaking at the meeting, the president guaranteed that the council would receive full support and resources from the government to carry out any work that would lead to dignified living for Male’ residents. The president also discussed policies that could further improve Male’ City and broader decentralisation plans.
