68 nursing students volunteering as healthcare workers

Spokesperson at the President’s Office Mohamed Mabrook Azeez has revealed 68 nursing students have started volunteering as healthcare workers to help with the shortages faced amid the surge of COVID-19 cases.

Speaking at a press conference, the spokesperson said the 68 nursing students have started work as volunteers to reduce the burden on healthcare workers in treating the large number of people testing positive for COVID-19. He added efforts are ongoing to seek more healthcare workers to address the current shortages faced in the health sector.

Meanwhile, Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) had earlier revealed a large number of people have volunteered to work at the centre to assist the COVID-19 operations. HEOC expressed gratitude for the positive public response to the call for volunteers.
