Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has completed the development of the new wheelchair access ramp at the Artificial Beach in Male’, and officially opened it to the public.
The project to develop the wheelchair access ramp in Artificial Beach was carried out under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of MTCC. The aim of the project was to make the beach accessible to individuals with physical disabilities.
MTCC commenced physical works of project in March this year. As part of the project, MTCC has also developed a shading hut and a changing hoist for individuals in wheelchairs.
With this project, Artificial beach becomes the first beach and swimming area in Male’ that has specialised access for disabled persons.
