Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital (KRH) has signed a contract with Wave Length Private Limited to transport laboratory samples between the hospital and six health centres in Haa Dhaalu Atoll.
The agreement was signed by Deputy Director-General of KRH Khadheeja Ali and Managing Director of Wave Length Yoonus Ibrahim. The agreement was established to coordinate logistics for transporting laboratory samples between KRH and the health centres is expected to reduce the processing time for delivering the laboratory results, stated KRH.
The health centres established in Kumundhoo, Nellaidhoo, Finey, Naavaidhoo, Kurinbi, and Hirimaradhoo lack the necessary laboratory facilities to process samples. Wave Length is now tasked with transporting samples from the health centres to KRH for processing.
Health centres in Haa Dhaalu Atoll that have laboratory facilities consist of the centres in Makunudhoo, Vaikaradhoo, Neykurendhoo, Nolhivaram, and Hanimaadhoo.
KRH has stated a laboratory facility will be established in the Nolhivaranfaru health centre on July 15.
