City Council seeks company to establish buggy service in Villimale'

Male' City Council has announced it is seeking a company to establish a new buggy service in Villimale'.

Interested parties are required to submit their bid registration forms at the information session to be held at 1000hrs on August 11 at the Male' Water, and Sewerage Company (MWSC) Customer Service Building. Male' City Council stated the necessary information and documents will be provided at the information session. The council will be accepting proposals for the buggy service until September 12.

The first environment-friendly buggy service on an inhabited island in the Maldives was established in Villimale' in 2014. As such, Male' City Council had given the approval to Ninety Nine Holdings Limited to establish its 99 Eco Cab services in VIllimale'. The buggy service was introduced to Villimale' as an environment-friendly alternative to regular taxi services.
