Students begin receiving second dose of COVID-19 vaccine

School students have started receiving the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine under the nationwide vaccination drive for students aged 12-17.

Ministry of Education revealed administration of the second dose for students aged 12-17 began on September 6. The ministry stated students will be notified by their respective schools on the time and location for vaccination.

The government began administering the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to students aged 12-17 on August 15, following the beginning of the new academic year. The education ministry revealed there are about 40,000 students across the country who are eligible to receive the vaccine.
