Over 11,000 students complete both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine

Ministry of Education has revealed over 11,000 students have completed both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, under the nationwide vaccination drive launched last month for school children aged 12-17.

The education ministry revealed 35,152 students across 214 schools have received at least one dose of the vaccine as of September 11. The ministry revealed 11,653 students across 88 schools have completed both doses of the vaccine.

The government began administering the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to students aged 12-17 on August 15, following the beginning of the new academic year. The education ministry states there about 40,000 students eligible for the vaccine across the country. The ministry said students will be notified of their vaccination date and location through their respective schools.
