Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) has revealed all but 9 islands in the Maldives have completed vaccination of 90% of the population.
Speaking at a press conference, Senior Public Health Programme Officer Hawwa Guraisha said the nationwide vaccination programme carried out in the Maldives has been very successful, noting 180 inhabited islands have completed vaccination of 90% of the population. Guraisha said only 9 islands across the country are yet to reach this milestone.
HEOC has been administering COVID-19 booster shots to high risk individuals who have completed two doses of the vaccine. As such, HEOC revealed 7,203 people have received the booster shots.
