MTCC to conduct shore protection projects in three islands

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has signed agreements to conduct shore protection projects in Kendhoo and Dharavandhoo in Baa Atoll and Hithadhoo, Addu City.

As part of the project, MTCC will be build shore protection structures in Kendhoo within 365 days at a cost of USD 2.6 million. The scope of the project includes building an 80-metre revetment, two nine-metre groynes, and a breakwater.

The state-owned company will also build shore protection structures in Dharavandhoo within 180 days at a cost of USD 1.4 million. The scope of the project includes building a 490-metre breakwater and a 96-metre revetment.

Furthermore, the company will also build shore protection structures in Hithadhoo within 165 days at a cost of USD 756,000. The scope of the project includes building a 100-metre breakwater, and a 570-metre geotube revetment.
