MFDA commences revision of National Food Safety Policy

Maldives Food and Drug Authority has commenced the revision of the National Food Safety Policy.

The workshop for the revision of the policy was inaugurated on November 28 by the Minister of State for Health Dr. Shah Abdullah Mahir. The workshop is attended by 40 officials from relevant authorities and institutions.

The National Food Safety Policy is being revised to keep it in line with the changes to food production, and to implement the policy changes needed to ensure food safety. The policy was last revised in 2016, for a 10-year period.
