New mosque to be built in Dhiyamigili to accommodate 300 worshippers

Ministry of Islamic Affairs has contracted a local company to develop an air-conditioned mosque in Dhiyamigili, Thaa Atoll to accommodate 300 worshippers at once.

The project, worth USD 570,000, was contracted to Aman Maldives Private Limited. The project is set to begin at the start of 2022, and is expected to be completed within one year.

The mosque will include a special area dedicated for females, an ablution area and a storage area. The mosque is designed with an air-conditioning system that uses renewable energy.
