HPA imposes additional measures to curb the spread of COVID-19

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has imposed additional measures in the Greater Male’ Region to curb the spread of COVID-19.

HPA announced new measures following the latest wave of COVID-19 in the Maldives, spurred on by the spread of the Omicron variant. The new measures include banning ceremonies, events and gatherings with more than 50 people, as well as night markets and sports events with spectators. HPA has also urged the public to make sure gatherings of less than 50 people are also conducted in accordance to the HPA guidelines.

HPA has instructed all relevant authorities, institutions and individuals to fully implement the new measures announced by the agency in order to curb the latest wave of COVID-19.
