Health Protection Agency (HPA) has publicly opened to administer the booster dose for individuals who have completed the two doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
HPA revealed all individuals above the age of 18 who have completed two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine can now register to receive the booster shot of the vaccine from January 15. HPA announced Pfizer vaccine will be administered as booster doses and that appointments can be made for booster doses through the portal.
HPA has advised to carry an official identification document when attending the vaccine appointment and to carry a personal water bottle as well. HPA also urged the public to ensure there are no symptoms of COVID-19 before getting the vaccine.
HPA began efforts to administer the booster dose at a time when the COVID-19 cases are on the rise. The Government of the Maldives has strengthened its measures against COVID-19 following the rapid rise in cases across the country.
