AgroNat to establish cold storage in Manadhoo

Agro National Corporation Limited (AgroNat) has handed over the project to develop cold storage and office establishment in Manadhoo, Noonu Atoll. The agreement of the venture was handed over to Veeru Group Private Limited.

The agreement was signed by Deputy Managing Director of AgroNat Mohamed Ahmed Fulhu and CEO of Veeru Group Ahmed Ziyad. The project costing over USD 97,000 must be commenced on January 27 and completed within 75 days.

AgroNat has decided to establish cold storage facilities in nine islands. As such, cold storage facilities will be establised in Gan and Isdhoo in Laamu Atoll, Magoodhoo in Faafu Atoll, Manadhoo in Noonu Atoll, Nilandhoo in Gaafu Alifu Atoll, Addu City, and Fuvahmulah City.

Following the establishment of cold storage facilities in different parts of the country, AgroNat believes the local produce will be easily transported to these facilities, and the products required for resorts and businesses will be wholesaled from these areas. The state-owned company revealed the cold storage facilities will enable the products of farmers to be marketed freshly.
