Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has extended the services provided by laboratory OPD to eight hours.
IGMH downgraded some of its services to four hours due to a rapid surge in COVID-19 cases in the Greater Male' Region last month. However, the service hours were extended to six hours earlier this month following the improvement of the situation.
The state-run hospital revealed the laboratory services will now be available from 0800hrs to 1600hrs. The number of appointments issued has also been increased following the extension of service hours.
IGMH had also suspended its elective surgeries on January 22 due to the latest COVID-19 outbreak. However, IGMH has resumed some of its elective surgeries now.
IGMH said the hospital's emergency (ER) services will continue uninterrupted for 24 hours.
